The Short Version
I'm a marketing consultant in Denver who helps eCommerce brands stop leaking revenue. 20+ years in the game, from professional sports to cannabis to cybersecurity. I specialize in the stuff that happens after someone buys... making sure they come back, buy again, and tell their friends. I run R Bar Solutions as a solo operator because I'd rather do the work than manage the people doing the work.
The Path
How I Got Here
I started in professional sports. Spent four years with the Atlanta Hawks and Thrashers selling and activating sponsorships for brands like Coca-Cola, Anheuser-Busch, and Bank of America. That's where I learned how to connect brands with audiences in a way that actually drives results... not just logo placement, but measurable business outcomes.
From there I moved to Voya Financial (back when it was still ING), managing a $4.5 million national sponsorship portfolio that included the ING NYC Marathon and ING Renault F1. Then to Life Time and Athlinks, where I ran brand strategy and marketing for 18 national endurance events and helped launch a web and mobile platform for endurance athletes.
The cannabis and CBD chapter is where everything clicked. At Ripple, I built an email program from scratch and tripled quarterly retail velocity through growth partnerships. At NuLeaf Naturals, I led a full brand relaunch, improved eCommerce conversion rate by 42.6%, and built a subscription program that generated 51% of total revenue as monthly recurring. That's when I realized retention marketing was the thing I was best at and cared most about.
I launched R Bar Solutions in 2022. The thread across every role has been the same: I sit at the intersection of marketing strategy and hands-on execution. I don't just tell you what to do; I get in the platform and build it. Klaviyo, HubSpot, Shopify... that's the stack, and I know it cold.
How I Think
Four Things I Believe
Retention Before Acquisition
Build the post-purchase infrastructure before you spend on top-of-funnel. Lifecycle journeys, marketing automation, and repeat purchase programs should be in place before you crank up the ad budget. Why pay to fill a bucket that leaks?
Human Over Algorithmic
Relationships, real-world presence, and face-to-face connection beat platform-dependent tactics. Brand partnerships, ambassador programs, event sponsorships, and influencer content over paid social. Human connection is how you differentiate.
AI as Accelerator, Not Replacement
AI doesn't fix bad strategy. It just exposes weak strategy faster. AI is an incredibly powerful tool for synthesizing data and delivering great outputs, but it's only as good as the human who orchestrates the knowledge and inputs. Judgment is still required.
Data-First, Not Hype-First
Every recommendation starts with what the numbers actually say. Conservative projections grounded in real account data, not aspirational forecasts designed to close a deal. If I can't tie it to a metric, I don't recommend it.

When I'm Not Working
I live in Colorado with my family. When I close the laptop, you'll find me skiing, mountain biking, or figuring out which trail to hit next. The commute is zero, the skiing is excellent, and I wouldn't trade it.
